Job summary

AGC Heat Transfer is seeking a Field Maintenance Specialist based in Roanoke, VA to support customers across the U.S. This traveling role involves inspections, repairs, and on-site training, with frequent travel and direct customer interaction.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, with strong communication skills and experience using Office 365 tools. Reports to the Service Maintenance Manager and will mentor new technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Traveling technician experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tool experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform Plate Check™ and tubular heat exchanger inspections.
• Execute repairs, troubleshooting, and installation supervision.
• Conduct on-site customer training.
• Travel >15 days/month (including some weekends).
• Maintain detailed plant folders, documentation, and follow-up communication.
• Collaborate with AGC Sales Engineers on upcoming service needs.
• Submit accurate service reports within 48 hours.
• Mentor new technicians as needed.
