Placements24 is assisting a prominent logistics and distribution company in Randburg, Gauteng to hire a skilled Transport Planner. You will design daily transport schedules, optimize routes, manage fleet assignments, and collaborate with warehousing, drivers and cross‑functional teams to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
• Strong understanding of route optimization and fleet management.
• Proficiency with planning software (e.g., route optimization tools, TMS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Clear communication across departments.
• Knowledge of Randburg, Gauteng regional networks is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized daily transport plans for regional network.
• Create efficient routes considering delivery windows and vehicle capacity.
• Schedule and coordinate vehicle and driver assignments.
• Monitor operations and adjust plans to address delays.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams, fleet managers and drivers.
• Analyze transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and policies.
• Manage relationships with third-party transport providers.
• Prepare reports on KPIs like on-time delivery and fuel usage.
• Contribute to long-term network planning and strategy.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate transport documentation.
