Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Regional Training & Competency Assurance Specialist to join the NGM Safety, Health, and Training team in Nevada. The role supports training quality, regulatory compliance, and workforce competency across operations, working with site leadership to implement regional training standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in mining-related training and a strong background in MSHA regulations, with proven abilities in coaching, field assessments, and cross-site

Qualifications

• Five or more years of mining operations, health & safety, training, workforce development, or compliance experience.
• Experience with MSHA regulations and mining training requirements.
• Experience reviewing, administering, or managing training programs and competency systems.
• Experience conducting competency evaluations, PTOs, workforce development activities, or operational assessments.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, hazards, critical controls, and risk management.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback.
• Ability to evaluate documentation and workforce competency for continuous improvement.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel extensively between Nevada Gold Mines sites.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training assurance, workforce competency verification, and field engagement across Nevada Gold Mines operations.
• Verify training records, competency records, qualification records, and LMS documentation.
• Support regulatory inspections, compliance reviews, and internal audits.
• Review training delivery practices for alignment with approved curriculum and materials.
• Evaluate training program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct competency verifications across Surface, Underground, Process, and Maintenance operations.
• Provide coaching and feedback to employees and site personnel.
• Develop corrective action plans with site leadership and verify effectiveness.
