Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior architectural leader in California to drive regional technical direction and project execution. You will oversee design development, construction administration, and QA/QC across complex projects, aligning with firm standards and client needs.

You will mentor staff, promote sustainable design, and coordinate multi-discipline teams using BIM and digital tools. Travel up to 25% is required in this leadership role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Professional registration required.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience focusing on technical execution and PM.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex projects.
  • Leadership/management experience overseeing QA/QC preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for regional projects.
  • Ensure alignment with firm-wide standards in design, graphics, building-code, project-management, and client expectations.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and guide project teams on best practices.
  • Help avoid claims through proactive technical and PM guidance.
  • Collaborate with regional specifications leaders and office leadership.
  • Establish office liaisons to ensure guidelines are followed.
  • Apply advanced technologies, materials, details, and sustainable design principles.
  • Develop and maintain a Regional Detail Library and region-specific templates.
  • Oversee technical design, document development, and construction administration from concept to completion.
  • Ensure project documentation complies with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Coordinate architecture, structural, MEP, and other disciplines via BIM Execution Plans.
  • Support project schedules, timelines, and budgets.
  • Mentor junior staff and lead regional technical training.
  • Implement tiered training for technical and PM staff.
  • Oversee Production Directors, staffing assignments, and weekly staffing reviews.
  • Provide feedback on guidelines, libraries, templates, standards, and processes.
  • Implement QA/QC and risk-management processes.
  • Conduct technical reviews and project audits; recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee QA/QC reviews and QC checklist completion.
  • Implement issue-reporting and documentation correction processes.
  • Serve as technical point of contact for key client managers.
  • Support business development presentations and new-project pursuits.
  • Promote BIM, digital tools, and advanced simulation techniques.
  • Travel to regional offices to maintain visibility and cohesive standards.

Requirements
