Job summary

Jobtailor in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a seasoned VDC/BIM Manager to lead the implementation of advanced VDC workflows onsite with project teams. You will manage 3D/4D/5D content, coordinate between preconstruction and field operations, and mentor staff to uphold VDC standards.

You will oversee drone/VDC data capture, cost analyses, and coordination with vendors while driving continuous improvement across projects. A strong PM background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

Requires industry-related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years in architectural services, construction, or manufacturing.
Minimum 2+ years in VDC/BIM management.
LEAN experience is desirable.
OSHA 10/30 preferred or willing to obtain.
Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
Strong knowledge of VDC software/hardware (Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe).
Able to learn JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling tools.
Initiative, judgment, PM and analytical skills.
Leadership, business acumen, client relations, decision-making.
Drones/LiDAR/reality capture experience preferred (FAA Part 107).

Job description

Apply VDC technologies onsite with project teams
Provide technological expertise for drones, robotics, laser scanning, and reality capture
Leverage 3D, 4D, and 5D digital content to design, manage, and implement VDC systems
Streamline workflows between preconstruction, field operations, and other project departments
Lead VDC training sessions with the learning and development team
Test, plan, and direct implementation of approved software and hardware
Produce VDC estimates and cost analysis
Propose improvements supporting companywide VDC strategic initiatives
Maintain VDC standards and best practices and manage updates
Analyze metrics, identify improvement areas, and propose solutions
Participate in vendor, supplier, and service provider negotiations
Promote the Company's VDC capabilities through marketing and business development initiatives
Present VDC capabilities to owners, architects, and project teams
Keep abreast of software and technology and identify improvement areas
Mentor team members and delegate tasks and responsibilities
Maintain site models and logistic plans
Handle RFIs and A/E design changes and updates
Track, evaluate, and help develop trade and construction models
Maintain consolidated coordination models
Compile final as-built models
Conduct weekly drone flights and data processing
Perform laser scanning and reality capture
Operate robotic systems for layout
Manage reality capture production programs
Conduct daily/weekly QA walks comparing model to actual build conditions
Log deviations and coordinate model updates with trades
Work with the project team to reflect changes in models
Perform project engineering duties such as submittals and trade management as directed

Requirements

An industry-related bachelor's degree is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
A minimum of five (5) years of architectural services, construction, or manufacturing experience is required
At least two (2) years of VDC/BIM management experience is required
LEAN principles experience is desirable
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
General understanding of VDC software, systems, and hardware, including Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe Suite
Ability to learn JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, and other specific software
Initiative, independent judgment, project management, and analytical skills
Leadership, business acumen, client relations, and decision-making abilities
Experience with drones, FAA Part 107 Certificate, LiDAR scanning, reality capture, data processing, and data utilization is preferred
