Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Senior/General Accountant to support a designated region from our Home Office. You will oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and prepare Financial Statements for the communities in your region.

This full-time role requires handling month-end close, vendor and resident accounts, and tax-related filings, with strong knowledge of accounting standards and Yardi software. Onsite, comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Manages month-end close, A/R, and A/P processes.
• Experience with multi-entity property management preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Processing and paying vendor invoices.
• Managing resident billing and account changes.
• Reconciling vendor and resident accounts.
• Performing month-end reviews for financial accuracy.
• Filing business licenses, property taxes, and sales tax.
• Recording and tracking fixed assets.
• Learning and assisting with Yardi software usage.
• Providing financial information for tax return preparation.
