Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Senior Accountant in Richmond to provide analytical and accounting support to the Fiscal Officer, CFO, and DHRM divisions. The role includes monthly Cardinal fund reconciliations and processing travel vouchers and invoices.

Qualified candidates will have Cardinal knowledge, GAAP expertise, and strong reconciliation/analytical skills. CPA/CGFM is a plus; state pay and a General Public appointment apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the state accounting system Cardinal and GAAP principles.
• Ability to perform financial reconciliations and analyses.
• Experience handling cash transactions and multiple funds.

Responsibilities

• Monthly reconciliation of agency 129 funds in Cardinal.
• Maintain AR/AP systems and reports to management.
• Process travel vouchers and other invoices; prepare IRS 1099 reporting.
