Job summary

AEP is seeking a Region Security Coord in Roanoke, VA to coordinate investigations of security incidents and ensure proper security measures at facilities across the region.

You will liaise with law enforcement, coordinate security programs, and oversee investigations. The role requires traveling up to 40% and living within AEP’s service territory; a background in security or sworn law enforcement is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree with 3 years of experience, or high school with 10 years of experience.
• Minimum 3 years in sworn law enforcement, military, corporate security or related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% (overnight).
• Live in AEP’s service territory.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security measures across a large geographic region.
• Liaise with federal, state, and local law enforcement for investigations and security needs.
• Direct and coordinate investigations with company personnel and law enforcement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal staff, contractors and local agencies.
• Deliver security policies, training and procedures via LMS or in person.
