Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a security leader to coordinate investigations of theft, vandalism, and threats within the assigned region. You will ensure security measures and equipment are installed and that practices are communicated to employees, contractors, and outside law enforcement.

Responsibilities include coordinating with law enforcement on vulnerability assessments, developing physical security programs, and directing investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree and three years' experience OR High School and 10 years' experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience in sworn law enforcement at local/state/federal level, active-duty military, or corporate security.

Responsibilities

• Recommend security personnel levels and equipment, and ensure security measures are in place across facilities.
• Coordinate with federal/state/local law enforcement on vulnerability assessments and security needs.
• Develop and coordinate physical security, including equipment, procedures and methods for protection of personnel and facilities.
• Direct and coordinate investigations with company personnel, contractors and law enforcement as appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal staff, contractors and local law enforcement.
• Develop and train on security policies, methods and procedures; deliver training via LMS or in person.
• Stay current on security issues and adjust practices as needed.
