Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a security professional to coordinate investigations of theft, vandalism, threats and related matters in the Roanoke region. Ensure security measures and equipment are installed and that security practices are communicated to employees, contractors and law enforcement.

Responsibilities include developing physical security programs, directing investigations with internal teams and local law enforcement, and training staff on security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree and 3 years' experience.
• High School and 10 years' experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience in one of: sworn law enforcement, active-duty military, corporate security.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security personnel levels and equipment in Company facilities.
• Act as liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement on security needs.
• Develop and coordinate physical security including equipment, procedures and methods.
• Direct and coordinate investigations with company personnel, contractors and law enforcement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal employees, contractors and local law enforcement.
• Coordinate and assist in training on security policies and procedures.
