Job summary

Duravant in Illinois seeks a Regional Sales Manager to drive direct sales of packaging equipment in a defined territory. You will train distributors, build long-term relationships, and execute the company’s sales plan to meet growth targets.

The role requires at least 5 years of capital equipment selling experience, strong business acumen, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Travel is extensive; office-based with visits to the manufacturing area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years related capital equipment selling experience.
• Proven track record of sales growth.
• Formal sales training programs (i.e. consultative selling techniques).
• BA or BS or related experience.
• Knowledge of packaging equipment preferred.

Position Summary

The RSM is responsible for the sale of company products and promotional programs in a geographically assigned territory within the framework of company policies, procedures, and practices. The RSM will utilize a disciplined selling approach that defines the opportunity, builds trust and confidence, and presents a solution that will meet the expectations of the customer. This role will cover the Southeast region. The RSM will have an in-depth knowledge of direct sales and the packaging equipment distribution industry and a solid understanding of equipment applications and commercial business practices. The RSM is a growth conscience individual that is determined to incrementally grow their sales territory. The RSM will function in a team environment following applicable policies and procedures in performing their duties.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grow the business through direct sales and distributors via training, strategic planning, plan deployment and follow-up.

• Responsible for training distributor sales personnel and packaging and equipment specialists in accordance with policies, goals and coursework.
• Aggressively initiate and participate in the writing of accurate order specifications and submit them in a timely fashion to ensure on time project completion that meets or exceeds customer’s expectations.
• Intimate understanding of internal paper flow regarding each sale and educate customers and distributors as to the importance of the return of all documents requested by the company in a timely fashion in order to keep projects on time.
• Interface positively and proactively with various support teams inside nVenia to ensure the most positive customer response from nVenia when issues occur.
• Extensive travel required to cover assigned geographic region.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position is an office-based position with visits to the manufacturing area. In the manufacturing area, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud.
