Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for development and management of key accounts and sales channels for the Central United States. This person will be accountable for growing their sales funnel and accurately forecasting orders. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the Central United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop sales strategies and objectives for the assigned Region in accordance with overall AMETEK PPD/VTI goals and objectives in order to achieve market share growth, and maximize sales revenue and profitability.
  2. Assure that channel-partners/distributors develop and optimize their focus to support the AMETEK PPD/VTI strategic business objectives and that factory assistance is provided to assure they have our complete support in doing so.
  3. Provide regular status on each channel partner’s performance to plan along with updated revisions to sales and marketing strategies, territorial expansion, and other actions required in order to achieve and exceed projected targets.
  4. Maintain and report weekly an opportunity funnel/forecast for the general business and specific larger project business in the assigned Region.
  5. Maintain CRM data for the assigned sales partners and customers for accurate and up-to-date information.
  6. Train and educate local sales people on the AMETEK PPD/VTI products and provide the necessary objection handling and selling strategy assistance specific to an industry, market, or account.
  7. Personally engage with key customers to develop strategic relationships for Ametek PPD/VTI.
  8. Provide input to Product Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams to help direct the development of new products that reflect market trends and customer needs.
  9. Monitor and analyze historical sales to determine order frequency, product trends, and perceived product life cycles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical degree.
  2. Seven years of experience, with at least 3 years as a regional sales manager with increasing responsibility.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Proven ability to consistently achieve sales goals.
  2. Power and testing or instrumentation related product experience preferred.
  3. Highly customer focused with customer service orientation.
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to travel 50%
  6. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and database applications (namely CRM)
  7. Strong facilitation skills, including ability to negotiate both internally and when customer-facing, on commercial and technical matters.
  8. Self-directed and independent work ethic; measure and report progress against defined objectives.
  9. Detail-oriented problem-solving skills; objective approach to analysis and total business impact.
  10. Excellent written skills appropriate for documents suitable for publication.
  11. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and exemplary moral character.

Salary Range:
The annual pay range for this position generally ranges between $110,000 - $150,000. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, AMETEK provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
