The Retail Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of multiple retail stores and install branches within an assigned region. This leadership role focuses on maximizing sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction while ensuring operational excellence and consistent adherence to company policies and standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exhibits exceptional leadership and analytical skills, and has a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Duties And Responsibilities
Sales and Performance Management Develop and execute regional sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement Implement initiatives to increase market share, average transaction value, and conversion rates across stores Monitor and report on regional performance metrics, including sales, expenses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) Travel 50%+ with overnights Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top talent, ensuring each store/branch has a highly motivated and capable team Conduct regular performance reviews with Store/Branch Managers, setting clear expectations and goals Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement among team members Provide ongoing coaching and development to enhance leadership skills and sales performance within the region Operational Excellence
Oversee inventory management, shrink reduction, and effective merchandising practices across stores Conduct regular store/branch visits to evaluate and improve operational efficiency and customer experience Address and resolve escalated operational or customer service issues in a timely manner Customer Focus and Brand Representation
Champion exceptional customer service standards to drive loyalty and repeat business Ensure stores/branches are aligned with the company's brand identity, values, and marketing initiatives Represent the company at regional events, trade shows, and community activities to enhance brand visibility Financial Management
Manage regional budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance to ensure financial objectives are met Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and operational standards Collaborate with management team to optimize pricing strategies and promotional activities Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred) 10+ years of progressive retail sales management experience, with a focus in Big Box Retail. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving regional business growth. 5+ years of proven direct sales experience, preferably in the retail Big Box or building products industry Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on performance improvement Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficient in interpreting data and KPIs Superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and inspire teams Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset Proficient in retail software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
