Job Purpose:

Reporting to our CRO, this position is responsible for two key areas of our revenue growth plans. First, this role will lead the Mass channel strategy, inclusive of growing distribution within these accounts and day-to-day account management. Secondly, this role will be driving new business through new channels with clear revenue goals.

This role forms a vital part of the current and future business model at Mommy’s Bliss as we build our multi-channel strategy in the USA. This position is naturally expected to establish new distribution, increased presence both in store and online and develop annual joint business plans, working collaborative to establish account specific shopper programs and awareness driving tactics in stores.

Key Requirements:

Looking for an optimistic, action-orientated go-getter with strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work as part of a small and intensely collaborative team will be an integral part of the role; problem solving with cross functional teams, coordinating with operations on orders, sharing ideas for innovation, etc. With great account relationship skills, the right candidate is naturally friendly, honest and enjoys connecting with buyers, brokers and other industry colleagues.

As part of a fast-growing company, candidates should have strong relationship and presentation skills, time management, financial acumen and a proven ability to solve problems, forecast and develop detailed and strategic plans for sales. Must possess the skill set to manage volume forecasts, collaborate with marketing teams to develop robust and effective promotional plans within defined budget, driving value to the P&L, while managing an ever-changing/evolving retail landscape.

A minimum of 5+ years' experience with a proven track record of working with consumer goods in the FDM channel and with brokers is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have recent CPG experience of launching and managing a brand within the mass or club channel and would demonstrate industry, channel, and retailer knowledge, while enjoying staying abreast of all current market trends.

This is a full-time remote position with +/-10% Domestic Travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Mass Channel

Responsible for achieving growth and management of the assigned Mass Channel account via direct account contacts and some broker representation. Responsibilities include:

  • Account Management:
  • General account/broker management associated with growing sales and elevating the presence and image of the Mommy’s Bliss brand in retail locations – digital and in store.
  • Manage a book of business with over $14-30M with the goal of increasing revenue +20% YOY.
  • Attend and lead key account meetings, presenting line extensions and/or other line improvements, troubleshooting current shelf challenges and working with accounts to pursue worthy opportunities for growth.
  • Manage new items set up, item changes, and discontinued products with accounts as needed via forms, portals and thorough communication with accounts and brokers
  • Ensure accurate representation of Mommy’s Bliss brands on all channel websites
  • Responsible for the development of fact-based, analytical and compelling sales presentations.
  • Manage product inventory flow for key accounts with CRO and Operations via forecasting schedule and evaluating rate of sale for projections as needed
  • Manage forecast for accounts with rates of sale, projections, promotional calendar and spends, discounts, slotting/discontinuation, financial summary, and terms.
  • Manage accurate Account P&L Summaries, full ownership of planned revenue and volume numbers for the assigned account.
  • Track account spending vs. budget working with CRO and Finance Associate. Complete monthly accrual reports for the accounts.
  • Review weekly/monthly inventory reports to ensure ROS for all items/per individual account is accurately being forecasted for as well as be aware of potential inventory issues. Communicate changes, concerns/issues with planners and sales order processors.
  • Developing the annual strategic plan for accounts in line with Mommy’s Bliss strategic vision
  • Implement and manage promotions by evaluating spending vs. budget, strategizing for increased ROI, submitting forms, tracking sales, aligning with national brand promotional calendar, and coordinating support with Marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Shopper Marketing teams to create digital promotional ads, advertising support and content specifically for driving sales and brand awareness with accounts during scheduled promotions
  • Awareness of key competitor activity/pricing/product development through regular analysis of IRI/POS data, as well as monthly store audits, and close collaboration with industry contacts

New Business Channel Development

  • Responsible for identifying, cultivating and securing new opportunities to expand the portfolio of new customers for the Mommy’s Bliss brand, specifically looking at Club, Travel and Leisure as primary areas of focus
  • This will heavily rely on strong cross functional collaboration with the brand, finance and operations teams at all stages of this process
  • Industry knowledge in these channels will be an advantage but not required. Drive, motivation and a hunger to achieve results are essential as are analytical skills and rapport and relationship building – internal and external.

Other requirements

  • Quickly learn and understand Mommy’s Bliss current product range, while embracing the brand story and tone. Be able to talk and present the full range to buyers/brokers.
  • Work throughout the year to achieve monthly, quarterly, H1/H2, and annual company-wide sales goals, as well as personal budget goals. Personal goals should include placement of new items, opening of new account doors, growth within existing accounts with new item placements, new category placement.
  • Participation and flexibility in working with the entire sales team to meet goals and support each other as needed.
