Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Regional Field Safety Trainer based in Phoenix, Reno, or Salt Lake City with frequent travel across Utah and Nevada. You will implement, maintain, and conduct safety and technical training for regional personnel and oversee LCQS and line clearance certification programs.

You will lead regional training events, perform site inspections, mentor forepersons, and ensure compliance with corporate policies while staying current with industry practices and DOT

Qualifications

• 5+ years in line clearance tree trimming industry and LCQS completions through Foreman
• Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to create, communicate, and deliver training presentations at a management level
• Strong computer skills with ability to create reports/presentations and maintain tracking
• Must be able to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to travel extensively across Arizona, Utah, and Nevada
• Must pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen
• Able to traverse rugged terrain and adverse environmental conditions

Responsibilities

• Serves as a technical “expert” for all regional training programs and provides technical support to region personnel
• Organizes, schedules, and conducts all regional required training programs including NELO, LCQS, DMP, First Aid/CPR, Tree Felling, Basic & Advanced Rigging, Basic & Advanced Climbing, Electrical Hazard Awareness, Lift/Manual Rescue, Lift & Specialty Equipment operations, and other region-specific training
• Conducts regular job site inspections and/or Job Behavior Observations (JBOs) to support Safety Management
• Provides General Foreperson LCQS training and conducts GF mentoring program
• Reviews and evaluates worker’s LCQS and safety training tracking, completion, and progress for compliance
• Works with region GFs and regional office to monitor documents as required by policy
• During job site visits, identifies hazards, reviews briefings, provides training, feedback and coaching
• Ensures personnel compliance with corporate and regional policies and procedures
• Evaluates Crew Foreperson knowledge of safety training responsibilities
• Observes and reports on proper work techniques per Foreperson’s Manual and Region Policy Manual
• Performs vehicle inspections and DOT Assessments; reviews DVIR and driver credentials
• Recommends changes in procedures, processes, design, or equipment
• Ensures adverse events are properly reported and documented; assists with Incident Investigation Management
• Researches current and new industry techniques and training to implement regionally
• Participate in continuing education and professional development
