Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Region Trainer to drive a safety-first culture across multiple sites. You will equip new hires with knowledge to work safely from day one, ensure CMV drivers operate with skill and compliance, and maintain alignment with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.

Your work will reduce incidents, improve operational efficiency, and protect our people and the communities we serve, while collaborating with Region safety teams and operations leaders to address trends and training needs.

Qualifications

• Experience keeping detailed records in a safety environment.
• Ability to train others clearly and professionally.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Experience in waste hauling industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead new hire safety orientation sessions and set a safety-first mindset.
• Deliver CMV driver training including pre-trip inspections and safe operating practices.
• Conduct OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA compliance training for all roles.
• Partner with safety and operations teams to develop HE/PIT training programs.
• Maintain training documentation and certifications for audits.
• Develop processes to measure training competencies and knowledge checks.
• Facilitate daily toolbox talks and safety huddles.
• Ride-alongs and field observations to coach safe work habits.
• Identify training needs with operations leaders and address safety trends.
• Support incident investigations with training insights and corrective actions.
• Assist with site health & safety inspections and audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
