Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Dayton, OH is seeking a Region Trainer to drive a culture of safety across multiple sites. You will equip new hires to work safely from day one and ensure CMV drivers operate with compliance to DOT/OSHA rules.

You will develop and manage training programs, maintain documentation, and lead toolbox talks, field observations, and incident-review support to improve safety and efficiency across the region.

Qualifications

• Waste industry experience is a plus.
• Understanding of DOT and OSHA requirements is required.
• 5+ years experience in keeping detailed records in a safety environment.
• 5+ years experience reading and interpreting federal, state and local safety regulations.
• Experience conducting instructor-led or practical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead new hire safety orientation sessions to set a safety-first mindset.
• Deliver CMV driver training including pre-trip inspections and safe driving practices.
• Conduct OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA compliance training for operational roles.
• Develop and manage qualified HE and Certified PIT training programs.
• Maintain training documentation and audits-ready records.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety huddles with actionable messaging.
• Coach employees through field observations and on-the-job coaching.
• Assist with site-level health and safety inspections/audits.
