Job summary

Academy Fire is seeking a proactive Safety Specialist to support the EHS team across regions and company-wide programs. You will lead safety initiatives, train personnel, and ensure regulatory compliance while promoting a strong safety culture.

The role involves field interactions, jobsite inspections, and collaboration with operations to drive continuous improvement in safety performance across the country.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and cultivate a strong safety culture within assigned districts and regions.
• Partner with technicians, supervisors, and leaders to influence safe work behaviors.
• Support and complete customer safety prequalification requirements and related documentation.
• Administer safety training programs to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with safety records and EHS systems documentation (OSHA logs, incident files, inspections).
• Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs (OSHA training, lift certifications, confined space, fall protection).
• Perform jobsite inspections, audits, and evaluations to identify hazards.
• Develop and document Pre-Job Safety Surveys, Safety Audits, Root Cause Analyses, and Corrective Action Plans.
• Provide technical guidance to operations on safe work practices.
• Support special projects and company-wide EHS initiatives.
