Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to coordinate proactive safety programs and training across our Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire market.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Operations and Maintenance to ensure compliance with federal, state and company policies. The position offers a competitive salary range and opportunities to lead safety initiatives across multiple states, with regional and occasional national travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; 5–7 years in safety management focusing on OSHA/FMCSA regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel regionally and nationally occasionally for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift 50–75 lbs, walk, stand, climb and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Act as safety resource to market employees, site managers and supervisors.
• Perform internal inspections and document results with corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety training for Casella personnel across the market.
• Investigate accidents and support incident management program.
• Participate in site safety meetings and safety-related events with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Develop and maintain job safety assessments with Operations and Maintenance.
• Support annual personal growth plans with Regional Safety Manager.
• Engage in ongoing training to expand safety knowledge.
