Job summary

Anchor Bay Packaging Corporation is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to lead development, implementation, and administration of workplace safety programs across Michigan and Texas facilities. This role establishes consistent policies, evaluates compliance, and partners with plant leadership to correct hazards.

Travel between states is required. You will oversee safety documentation, training systems, inspections, incident investigations, and regulatory responses, emphasizing proactive injury

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry preferred.
• Professional safety credential (ASP/CSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures for MI and TX facilities.
• Set regional safety priorities and improve plans with Operations leadership.
• Administer safety program documents, training matrices, and records.
• Review equipment and processes before startup; recommend controls.
• Maintain presence at facilities and elevate risks to leadership.
• Interpret OSHA/MIOSHA requirements and update programs.
• Lead inspections, audits, JSA, and hazard assessments.
• Improve high‑risk programs (LOTO, machine guarding, PPE).
• Assign corrective actions and track due dates.
• Coordinate safety inspections and documentation with leadership and counsel.
• Oversee injury and illness recordkeeping and postings.
• Lead investigations of injuries, near misses, and high‑risk events.
• Standardize investigation methods and verify corrective actions.
• Analyze trends and recommend recurrence‑reducing controls.
• Collaborate with HR and health providers on injury prevention.
• Develop role‑based safety training plans.
• Deliver or coordinate training and qualify local trainers.
• Oversee training completion and certifications.
• Coach managers in hazard recognition and safe practices.
• Facilitate safety committees and hazard reporting.
• Maintain emergency action procedures and drills.
• Track inspections, training, incident trends, and injuries.
• Coordinate with insurers and safety specialists; implement recommendations.
