Job summary

Crawford Electric is seeking a seasoned safety leader to drive safety initiatives across drivers, warehouse, and office associates. You will partner with managers to foster safe environments, develop training programs, and ensure adherence to corporate safety standards while delivering annual executive reports.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in safety/compliance, OSHA knowledge, and strong communication skills to influence across functions and locations. 50% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent safety/compliance experience.
• At least 5 years progressive safety and compliance experience.
• Certification in OSHA or equivalent program preferred.
• Experience in injury and accident reporting.
• Experience in HAZCOM training, tracking, and reporting.
• Experience in creating and implementing Workplace Safety Programs.
• Experience in electrical distribution warehousing and logistics preferred.
• Working knowledge of FMSCA/DOT, OSHA, and Minnesota AWAIR.
• Strong PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
• Ability to interpret government regulations and maintain compliance.
• Understanding of Workers Comp laws, FMLA, and ADA.
• Excellent written, verbal, and training/presentation skills.
• Familiarity with reporting, presentation, and file management software.
• Ability to read and analyze information.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to work with, coach, and influence managers and associates to improve safety.
• Ability to explain information to a wide range of audiences.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and implement safety initiatives
• Improve safety performance through training and interaction with associates
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, policies, procedures, and regulations
• Define, write, communicate, and continuously improve Crawford’s safety program
• Develop and deliver safety training for drivers, warehouse, and office associates
• Partner with and coach managers to reinforce safe work environments and practices
• Create prescriptive education to reduce injuries and days away from work
• Provide an annual safety report to the Crawford Executive Team
• Serve as corporate point of contact for accident reporting
• Assist with investigations of accidents, injuries, incidents, and near misses
• Partner with Human Resources on workers’ compensation claims and associate accidents
• Guide safety designees and ensure safety meetings and facility inspections are conducted and documented
• Coordinate and document safety committee activities
• Oversee periodic safety inspections and audits of all Crawford Electric locations
• Identify unsafe conditions and practices, monitor safety programs, and facilitate hazard elimination and compliance
• Manage workers’ compensation claims and work with third-party administrators and Human Resources
• Provide claims information to Sonepar’s Senior Risk Manager
• Complete quarterly and annual OSHA reporting
• Develop strategies to improve TRIR, DART, and DAFW cases
• Participate in Sonepar USA Central Region Safety Team meetings and collaborations
• Manage companywide OSHA Power Industrial Truck requirements and operator training records
• Collaborate with Human Resources and Sonepar on safety education and compliance management through the learning management system
• Maintain knowledge of current and pending local, state, and federal safety regulations
• Develop and publish evacuation and building security plans
• Support facility security, including card access and video surveillance
• Serve as site contact for agency audits
• Follow Crawford policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
