Job summary

Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) seeks a full-time Public Health Training Manager to coordinate the Public Health Training Hub, oversee trainers, and provide training on food safety, housing and the State Sanitary Code, septic systems, Title 5, and other public health inspections.

The role collaborates with local public health officials across Central Massachusetts and with the DPH Office of Local and Regional Health, in an interdisciplinary, innovative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Eight years of local public health experience with housing codes, sanitation, Title 5, wastewater, or food protection knowledge.
  • Registered Sanitarian/REHS certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Public Health Regional Trainers and coordinate assignments.
  • Provide local public health officials with training aligned to regulatory requirements and performance standards.
  • Deliver training programs and resources to meet diverse competency needs of local public health workforce.
  • Build local public health competencies to address disparities among marginalized communities.
  • Design and deliver standardized, hands-on training based on DPH curricula.
