Job description

Currently seeking an Industrial HVAC/Refrigeration Regional Project Manager with 5+ years experience for a customer focused client in Fort Wayne, IN to actively manage projects to complete work for customers on schedule and with excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure workforce completes work within OSHA requirements and customer site specific requirements to maintain the safety of everyone
  • Manage service cost and profitability for the contracts in progress and miscellaneous costs
  • Account for own time expenses and ensure they are properly assigned to the projects
  • Process any invoices in a timely manner and communicate JIP updates to accounting monthly
  • Contribute to the bottom-line profits of the company by “doing what’s right” for the customers, vendors, and employees in every aspect
  • Project Planning:
    • Develop project task plans, being aware of prerequisite tasks, and include resources and lead times to accomplish customer targeted completion dates
    • Project job costs and assess profits for the projects assigned vs company target profitability
    • Develop resource plan and issue contracts and purchase orders to vendor/suppliers and subs with help of others
    • Communicate requirements to company superintendent of labor to give lead time to plan and source the job efficiently
  • Business Development/Selling:
    • Meet with existing customers to stay abreast of requirements that could lead to future work with company
    • Connect with vendors and suppliers as necessary to keep current about industry developments and innovation in equipment and process
    • Incorporate customer needs / feedback into detailed solution design
    • Develop the preliminary solution design to satisfy customer requirements with assistance from senior project engineer
    • Develop high level budgets associated with design options for review by others
    • Develop detailed cost estimates, including equipment, material, labor, and sub-contractors
    • Use appropriate estimating tools to complete hard quotes, including alternate value-added options if appropriate
    • Meet and present solutions
    • Ask for the opportunity to do the job
  • Leadership:
    • Teach and mentor less experienced employees for growth and implementation of best practices
    • Enhance project management and project estimating tools, policies, and procedures
    • Adopt and further develop our core values and teamwork centered culture
Regional Project Manager Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field or construction management
  • 10+ years of excellent performance in a construction related role, at least five at a foreman Level
  • Technical knowledge of ammonia refrigeration a PLUS
  • Technical knowledge of industrial refrigeration / mechanical / HVAC systems components
  • Project management disciplines and techniques (project plan, Gantt, CPM)
  • PMP is a plus
  • Capabilities of industry equipment components
  • Knowledge of OSHA / EPA requirements
  • Safety minded and knowledgeable about safe work practices
  • Customer specific safety and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to estimate, quote, and sell new business for a profit
  • Team oriented - collaborative culture
  • Software and/or programs: Raken, Procore, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam (all nice to have but not required)
  • Travel: Some required;generally within the region; may need to travel outside of region occasionally. Not generally overnight, but may occasionally.
