About Midway Specialty Care

Midway Specialty Care is a healthcare organization committed to providing high-quality, compassionate, and accessible care to the communities we serve. Through our growing network of locations and dedicated healthcare professionals, we work to create an environment where patients receive exceptional care and employees are empowered to make a meaningful difference.

Our continued growth depends on talented people who share our commitment to service, collaboration, accountability, and excellence. At Midway, every role contributes to our ability to strengthen our organization, support our teams, and deliver an exceptional experience for the patients and communities who depend on us.

Why This Role Matters

The Regional People Operations Generalist (RPOG) serves as a dedicated People Operations partner for an assigned Midway Specialty Care region while operating as part of one centralized, shared-services People Operations Team.

This role develops strong relationships with regional and site leaders and provides responsive day-to-day People support throughout the employee lifecycle. In partnership with and under the direction of the VP, People, the RPOG supports employee relations, manager coaching, performance management, leave and accommodation processes, policy application, workforce changes, onboarding, employee engagement, and other People Operations needs.

Regional assignment provides relationship ownership, familiarity, and inquiry ownership. It does not create separate regional People practices. Generalists collaborate across the organization, provide cross-regional coverage when needed, and apply consistent enterprise-wide People Operations standards.

What You’ll Do

Partner With Your Assigned Region

Serve as the primary day-to-day People Operations partner for leaders, managers, and employees within an assigned region of about 10+ locations.

Build trusted working relationships with Regional Directors/Managers, Office Managers, providers, and other operational leaders.

Maintain regular visibility across assigned locations through periodic site visits, meetings, and proactive communication.

Develop a strong understanding of the region’s workforce, operational priorities, employee needs, and emerging challenges.

Help leaders navigate routine People matters while ensuring practices remain aligned with Midway-wide standards.

Identify regional workforce themes and share relevant insights with the VP, People and broader People Operations Team.

Support Employee Relations & Manager Effectiveness

In partnership with and under the direction of the VP, People support employee relations matters involving performance, attendance, corrective action, workplace concerns, documentation, and policy interpretation to ensure consistent management across the organization.

Serve as a first-line People Operations resource for managers, identifying matters requiring escalation to the VP, People based on risk, complexity, sensitivity, or organizational significance.

In partnership and under the direction of the VP; People, support fact-finding and workplace investigations as assigned.

Assist managers in preparing clear, consistent, and appropriate performance and corrective-action documentation aligned with People Operations team standards and guidelines for consistent management and handling.

Coach managers on communication, documentation, accountability, performance management, and consistent application of People practices.

Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality relating to employee matters.

Support implementation and follow-through of employee relations decisions consistent with Midway’s established ER processes.

Coordinate the Employee Lifecycle & Shared Services

Serve as the primary People Operations relationship partner throughout the employee lifecycle for assigned locations while coordinating with functional team members responsible for specialized People Operations services.

Partner with Talent Acquisition regarding workforce needs, vacancies, staffing priorities, and candidate-to-employee transitions while maintaining appropriate role boundaries within the recruitment process.

Partner with the People Operations Administrator to support consistent onboarding, employee documentation, workflow coordination, employee changes, and offboarding activities.

Coordinate employee promotions, transfers, compensation changes, organizational changes, and other employee lifecycle events, ensuring appropriate approvals and timely handoffs to the People Operations Administrator and Payroll & Benefits Specialist for applicable documentation, system, payroll, or benefit processing.

Coordinate employee leave and accommodation processes in partnership with the employee’s manager and VP, People, engaging the People Operations Administrator and Payroll & Benefits for applicable pay, benefit, eligibility, or status-related transactions.

Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, workplace culture, and manager and employee education initiatives within assigned locations.

Utilize established People Operations shared communication channels and workflows to support appropriate intake, visibility, documentation, tracking, follow-through, and continuity of employee and manager requests.

Maintain ownership and follow-through for assigned matters while ensuring substantive communications and workflow history remain appropriately accessible within established People Operations systems and shared channels.

Partner collaboratively across Talent Acquisition, Payroll & Benefits, People Operations Administration, and the VP, People to ensure clear handoffs and a seamless employee and manager experience.

Provide cross-regional support and coverage when needed while maintaining consistent enterprise-wide People Operations processes, templates, service standards, and practices.

Identify recurring regional issues, workflow gaps, and opportunities for process improvement and share insights with the VP, People and broader team.

Participate in enterprise-wide People Operations projects, audits, training, process improvement, and organizational initiatives.

Avoid creating regional People practices or exceptions unless supported by a legitimate business need and appropriately reviewed and approved.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

5+ years of progressive Human Resources, People Operations, Employee Relations, or HR Generalist experience.

Strong working knowledge of employment practices and applicable federal and state requirements.

Experience supporting managers with employee relations, performance management, documentation, leaves, and policy matters.

Experience supporting multiple stages of the employee lifecycle within a collaborative HR or People Operations environment.

Ability to work independently within an assigned portfolio while operating effectively as part of a centralized team.

Ability and willingness to travel periodically among assigned Midway locations.

What Would Set You Apart

Multi-site or regional People Operations experience.

Experience working within a centralized or shared-services Human Resources model.

SHRM-CP, PHR, or comparable professional certification.

Experience supporting frontline healthcare managers and employees.

Experience supporting organizational change, HR process improvement, or evolving People Operations environments.

Key People Operations Competencies

Employee-Centered Service: Provides responsive, respectful, and solutions-oriented support while appropriately balancing employee needs, manager needs, organizational practices, and business requirements.

Collaboration & Shared Accountability: Works effectively across the People Operations Team and broader organization, recognizing that successful employee lifecycle outcomes require coordinated ownership, clear handoffs, and collective accountability.

Process & Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to strengthen consistency, improve workflows, reduce unnecessary manual work, and support scalable People Operations practices.

Technology & Data Fluency: Effectively uses People Operations technology, shared systems, reporting tools, and workforce data to support service delivery, documentation, decision-making, and organizational insights.

What Success Looks Like

Regional leaders know who their primary People Operations partner is and receive responsive, knowledgeable support without creating inconsistent regional People practices. Managers become better equipped to address routine employee matters, employee relations concerns are appropriately supported and escalated, and leave, performance, employee-change, and other lifecycle processes are handled consistently and with appropriate follow-through.

The RPOG maintains strong relationships and workforce awareness within the assigned region while operating as an integrated member of the centralized People Operations Team. Employee lifecycle handoffs occur smoothly, work remains visible and sustainable across the shared-services model, regional trends are surfaced proactively, and enterprise-wide People Operations standards are consistently reinforced.
