Job summary

The role blends hands-on dispensing with regional leadership, including training, inventory control, and vendor coordination.

The Optician will mentor Medical Assistants, ensure precise measurements, supervise frame adjustments, and maintain strong lab/vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Active Optician License in good standing (dispensing and contact lens certification as required by California).
• 5+ years of experience as an Optician, including high volume dispensing and lab coordination.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare office settings.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a staff of 3-6 Medical Assistants across regional locations.
• Lead hands-on training for dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses with accurate measurements.
• Oversee full lifecycle of optical orders, interpret prescriptions and perform frame adjustments.
• Act as primary point of contact for optical laboratories and vendors; manage pricing and turnaround times.
• Manage regional frame and contact lens inventory; order stock and coordinate with vendors.
• Travel between sites to provide on-site supervision, training, and troubleshooting.
