Job summary

TC Energy is seeking an Area Manager to oversee safety, field operations, and maintenance for the designated region. You will ensure reliable operations, manage budgets, and lead a high-performing team while maintaining a strong safety culture across facilities.

Reporting to the American Gulf Region Director, you will drive continuous improvement, mentor staff, and partner with internal and external stakeholders. This role supports a hybrid work model in North America.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in a management or leadership role.
• Energy industry experience preferred, especially in natural gas transmission/storage.
• Ability to travel to work locations (approx. 40%).
• Strong written and verbal communication across organizational levels.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
• Commitment to safety and environmentally responsible work practices.
• Ability to influence and develop teams and build partnerships.
• Adaptability to changing environments and priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety excellence by stopping unsafe work and reporting hazards.
• Supervise employees to meet performance expectations.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and support staff within the organization.
• Set clear expectations and cultivate a high-performing team.
• Foster innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Maintain an inclusive, psychologically safe workplace with open communication.
• Conduct self-audits of processes (JSA, LOTO, Work Permits).
• Implement corporate messages and programs aligned with the company values.
• Provide field leadership to ensure policy adherence and best practices across the region.
• Act as REOC Manager backup and manage emergencies and drills.
• Drive safety culture across operating areas.
