The Regional Operations Manager - North Region is responsible for leading operational performance, developing high-performing leadership teams, and ensuring brand consistency across a portfolio of Terry Black's Barbecue restaurants throughout the North Region, including the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This role serves as the primary operational leader for the region, partnering closely with General Managers to drive execution, profitability, and an exceptional guest experience while upholding the standards and culture that define the Terry Black's Barbecue brand.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Store Support
- Serve as the primary liaison between restaurant leadership and the corporate support team, ensuring alignment with company objectives, operational initiatives, and Terry Black's Barbecue brand standards.
- Maintain a strong field presence through regular restaurant visits, providing coaching, mentorship, and hands-on operational support.
- Partner with General Managers to identify operational opportunities and implement solutions that improve productivity, food quality, service execution, and overall restaurant performance.
- Lead the execution of operational systems, processes, and company-wide initiatives that drive consistency, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and support during high-volume periods, special events, staffing challenges, and leadership transitions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Financial Performance & Business Results
- Oversee the financial performance of all restaurants within the region, ensuring achievement of sales, labor, food cost, and controllable expense goals.
- Collaborate with General Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning to improve profitability and drive sustainable growth.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, capitalize on opportunities, and proactively address operational challenges.
Leadership Development & Talent Management
- Recruit, coach, and develop General Managers and restaurant leadership teams to build a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.
- Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives that strengthen the organization’s leadership pipeline.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning, recognition, and professional growth across the region.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Marketing to execute local store marketing initiatives, community events, grand openings, and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Training team to ensure effective onboarding, leadership development, and ongoing operational education.
- Work closely with Human Resources to support workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and talent retention.
- Represent regional operations in cross-functional planning meetings, providing field insights that contribute to company-wide strategy and continuous improvement.
Brand Standards & Guest Experience
- Champion Terry Black's Barbecue’s standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and operational execution across every location.
- Monitor guest feedback and partner with restaurant leadership to resolve service concerns, improve guest satisfaction, and strengthen brand loyalty.
- Ensure every restaurant consistently delivers the authentic Terry Black's Barbecue experience.
- Lead operational execution for new restaurant openings, including hiring support, training, staffing readiness, and pre-opening planning.
- Provide leadership throughout the post-opening period to ensure successful integration into regional operations.
- Contribute operational insights that support future growth initiatives and regional expansion strategies.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive multi-unit leadership experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry, preferably in high-volume, fast-casual, or full-service concepts.
- Proven track record of improving operational performance, developing leaders, and achieving strong financial results.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated expertise in P&L management, labor optimization, food cost control, and operational planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- A collaborative, servant leadership approach with a passion for developing people and supporting restaurant teams.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the North Region, including the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
