Job summary

Virginia Transportation seeks a Regional Manager to lead the operational performance of multiple terminals and their teams, ensuring safety, service levels, and profitability across the region. This onsite role focuses on driving KPI alignment and fostering continuous improvement.

You will oversee Terminal Managers and Driver Managers, implement strategic initiatives, and use data-driven insights to optimize performance and the driver experience. A strong leadership background is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business or related field preferred.
• Experience in logistics and dispatch, preferably within auto hauling distribution.
• Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations and safety.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation software applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight and leadership to Terminal Managers and Driver Managers across a defined geographic region.
• Drive alignment with operational KPIs including safety, productivity, utilization, and financial performance.
• Support and retain high-performing teams by fostering engagement and recognizing performance.
• Identify performance gaps and create action plans for improvement across terminals.
• Oversee regional scheduling, equipment allocation, and terminal-level dispatch consistency.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety programs.
• Monitor driver engagement and collaborate with local leaders to improve retention.
• Lead weekly and monthly performance reviews with direct reports and provide coaching.
