Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a Regional Operations Coordinator to assist the regional director and wardens in planning, directing, and coordinating all security activities and operations of institutions in region 2. The role involves interpreting laws and policies, informing officials about operations, and ensuring adherence to procedures.

The incumbent will review efficiency, supervise personnel, and coordinate inmate movements as required, with eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a correctional environment or related military experience.
• Ten years of correctional, security, military, or police work with five years supervisory experience.
• A degree may substitute for the overall experience on a year-for-year basis; no substitution for supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist regional director and region 2 wardens in planning, directing, and coordinating security activities and operations of institutions.
• Interpret laws, policies, and procedures to employees, inmates, and public officials; inform about operations of the institutions.
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures; review correctional efficiency and practice of operations and personnel.
• Coordinate movement of inmates as required; perform duties under broad instruction per established policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field

High school diploma with ten years of correctional, security, military, or police experience (five years supervisory)

Degree in criminal justice or related field may substitute for experience (associate =2 years; bachelor =4 years)
