Job summary

Canteen, part of Compass Group USA, seeks an Operations Controller in Appleton, WI. This role is the financial backbone for regional operations, owning accounting for assigned accounts and partnering with the Regional Controller to keep financials in order while supporting fast-paced foodservice operations.

Responsibilities include cash handling oversight, balance-sheet analysis, P&L tracking, forecasting, and audit-ready reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling.
• Accounting experience in foodservice or retail required; foodservice operations experience a plus.
• Skilled at preparing financial statements, key metric reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all cash handling procedures across assigned accounts.
• Perform reconciliation and analysis for multiple balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Track and maintain monthly P&L and balance sheet activity.
• Develop forecasts and budgets, spotting risks and opportunities.
• Review general ledgers and balance sheets, resolving accounting issues.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and audits.
• Maintain inventory and cost control procedures.
• Support Payroll and HR administration.
• Take on related duties and special projects as needed.
