Job summary

American Foods Group in Green Bay, Wisconsin, seeks a Group Controller to lead company-wide accounting operations, reporting to the President of Finance and Accounting. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and the control environment across a multi-plant organization, driving accuracy, timeliness, and strategic insights.

The role requires a CPA, a strong track record in multi-site consolidation, and leadership of the Accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA required. MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience with a combination of public and private experience.
• Experience leading multi-site reporting and consolidation to include decision support.
• Complex problem-solving skills including Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Critical thinking skills including logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Adept at process mapping and solution generation with proven success in developing fit-for-purpose systems/ processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial aspects of AFG across a multi plant environment, including accounts payable, credit and claims, and monthly close.
• Lead financial audits and maintain relationships with external auditors.
• Establish and ensure compliance with accounting SOPs.
• Implement and improve tools, systems, and processes to provide critical financial and operational information to leadership.
• Develop board and leadership presentations on financial and business performance.
• Partner with department leaders to drive accountability to budget targets and identify optimization opportunities.
• Lead and continuously enhance cash flow forecasting and monitor liquidity to support growth and investments.
