Job summary

State of Florida in Tallahassee is seeking an Operations Consultant (SES) to supervise regional staff delivering administrative support to detention centers, emphasizing human resources and fiscal functions. The role represents the Regional Director and coordinates with detention superintendents.

You will mentor staff, ensure policy compliance, monitor budgets, and work with JJIS, SharePoint, Tableau, and related systems, including preparing corrective actions when needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic Management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of detention services policy and procedure.
• Knowledge of Department, State and Federal policy and procedure relating to operation of a Juvenile Detention Center.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the regional office that provide administrative support services to detention centers in the region, with concentration on HR and fiscal functions.
• Represent the Regional Director in administrative matters with Detention Superintendents and monitor assignments.
• Provide mentoring and technical assistance to Superintendents on administrative issues and be available for consultations.
• Review compliance with policies and procedures, including budgeting, JJIS, SharePoint, Tableau, and related systems.
• Perform site visits to detention centers, meet with staff, and issue inspection reports as needed.
