Job summary

Wellpath in Maine is seeking a Regional Director of Nursing (RDON), a senior nursing leader responsible for planning, implementing, and ensuring Nursing Services across assigned regions, aligned with ACA, NCCHC, and state standards. This full-time role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and ongoing training in a correctional health setting.

The position requires an active RN license in the state, 5+ years of supervisory experience in acute care, and experience in correctional nursing.

Qualifications

Must be graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN license in the state and CPR certification.
5 years of supervisory experience in an acute setting recommended.
Experience in delivery and administration of correctional nursing services preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee planning, policy development, and patient care evaluation to ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, and State standards.
Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in their region, including coordinating training and education opportunities.
Serve as a liaison between nursing services, other healthcare providers, and the Regional Manager and Medical Director.
Monitor and report on nursing incidents and communicable diseases, and assess policies and procedures as needed.
Assist the Medical Director in developing nursing guidelines and manuals for the region.
