Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange, research support, and investigator interactions across US territories. The role requires a terminal degree and robust experience in hematology/oncology and medical affairs.

You will collaborate with GCSA and GCTO to advance company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research, while mentoring field medical teams and aligning with GMSA strategies. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide vetted medical information.
• Engages in peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Leads protocol discussions and site selections in collaboration with GCTO and GCSA.
