Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MD/PhD/DO/DNP/PharmD) to lead scientific exchange and drive medical insights across US territories. You will foster relationships with national and regional scientific leaders, discuss data, guide investigator-initiated studies, and support trials with protocol leadership alongside GCTO.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
• Proven competence with at least 3 years in a relevant therapeutic area beyond the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
• Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for access to medical/scientific information on therapeutic areas.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions beyond the scope to appropriate resources.
• Keeps current knowledge of AOI in therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs or investigators to align with research strategies.
• Provide protocol leadership with GCTO and support investigator-sponsored studies.
• Engage in scientific congresses and medical meetings.
• Gather feedback to understand medical needs of SLs and patients.
