Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange and research activities across a defined US territory. The role requires a terminal degree and strong experience communicating with external stakeholders in oncology and gynecologic oncology.

Responsibilities include engaging with SLs, guiding investigator-sponsored research, and ensuring alignment with global medical affairs strategy. This position involves up to 50% travel and a remote-flexible work setup.

Qualifications

• PhD/PharmD/DNP/DO/MD credentialed.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue; excellent stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Maintains knowledge of dynamic scientific environment in AOI for the director's area.
• Leads protocol or study discussions with GCTO and identifies barriers to patient enrollment.
