Job summary

Flagship Communities is seeking a hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our team. Primary duties include painting, remodeling, minor plumbing and electrical work, and landscaping across our manufactured home communities.

The ideal candidate can work autonomously while observing health and safety guidelines and takes pride in quality workmanship for residents. Travel between local properties is required, with 4–7 years of housing maintenance/rehab experience favored.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of housing maintenance and rehab experience.
• Own tools is a plus.
• Physically capable of manual labor and lifting.
• Ability to work autonomously with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and repair of ventilation, refrigeration systems.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems.
• Inspect fire and security alarm systems and schedule repairs.
• Perform repairs on locks and windows as needed.
• Pest control duties such as spraying insecticide.
• General upkeep and landscaping tasks.
• Assist in budget preparation and adhere to it.
• Mow, weed, and trim hedges; maintain equipment.

Summary of Position

We are looking for a hardworking, eager Maintenance Technician to join our team. Primary responsibilities include painting, home remodeling, minor plumbing, electrical work and landscaping etc. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals with a wide variety of skill sets. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines and take pride in the standards and services they deliver to our residents

POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
• Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned
• Keeping grounds and landscaping in tip-top shape
• Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed
• Mowing, weed eating and hedge trimming (also includes performing preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Carpentry a Must
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching.
• Positive attitude and willingness to lead and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Puts high value on doing a good job and self-supervisory skills.
• Basic understanding of plumbing and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Carpentry a must

EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired
