The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Regional Maintenance Technician I to join the Coastal Regional Maintenance Team. This position reports to the Coastal Regional Maintenance Yard in Greenville, NC, and involves learning skills to perform general preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account system replacements.
This is a basic level position that does not require prior experience in maintenance or construction trades. Success depends on a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. You will be trained in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of general systems including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
This full-time position (40 hours/week) requires daily commuting to Greenville, NC, with work scheduled Monday – Friday, and may include some weekend work and overnight travel. Benefits include retirement, health insurance, vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
Effective January 1, 2025, the salary range will be $29,604.00 - $51,807.00. Prior applicants remain under consideration and do not need to reapply.
Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade is NC03. Applicants may be considered for a salary adjustment based on relevant education, experience, and internal equity.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, or a combination of education and experience in mechanical or building trades. Certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician may be required.
