This position is remote on the continent of Africa - 60% travel to our network of hospitals.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Regional Facility Maintenance Coordinator is a skilled technician who serves as the regional coordinator in facilities maintenance. They interpret and distribute regional facility maintenance policies, audit adherence to standards, and provide reports to the Global Director. They are a Subject Matter Expert in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Extensive travel to all CURE hospital locations is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Implement and assess network standards for hospital technical activities, including maintenance planning for construction, energy, HVAC/CVC, water, sanitation, and safety systems.
- Audit adherence to facilities maintenance standards and report findings.
- Conduct SafeCare facilities’ audits across the network.
- Serve as a CMMS Subject Matter Expert, providing training and support to hospitals.
- Audit and support improvements in CMMS data quality and usage.
- Provide timely maintenance reports highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Engage effectively with hospital Facility Managers.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in maintenance.
- Conduct infrastructure audits and Facility Condition Index assessments.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Facility Maintenance & Compliance
- Preventive vs. Corrective Maintenance Ratio: aim for at least 80% preventive maintenance.
- Response Time to Critical Repairs: average time to address urgent issues.
- CMMS Implementation & Utilization
- CMMS Adoption Rate: percentage of hospitals fully using CMMS.
- Asset Lifecycle Tracking: percentage of assets properly tracked in CMMS.
- Training & Capacity Development
- Facility Manager Training Completion Rate.
- Standardization & Process Improvement
- Facilities Policy Manual Implementation: percentage of hospitals aligned with policies.
- Fire Safety & Occupational Safety Compliance: percentage of hospitals meeting safety standards.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Research and propose facility improvements for safety and standards.
- Participate in task forces or committees as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Facilities Maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of two years in a facilities maintenance skilled trade.
- Experience with maintenance standards and preventive maintenance.
- Experience with CMMS software systems.
- Training in infrastructure auditing and facility assessment tools.
- Experience in developing reports and adherence summaries.
- Experience drafting maintenance policies and SOPs.
