Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Vehicle Driver II to manage driving state agency vehicles, deliver and pick up large items, and support mailroom and warehouse operations across the region.

The role involves assembling and installing furniture, coordinating moves, and assisting with disaster deployment. A valid Texas driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing as demonstrated in the application.
• Preferred experience in shipping, receiving, sorting, and distributing furniture, supplies, or equipment.
• Preferred experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, dolly etc.
• Preferred experience driving panel truck and /or cargo van.
• Preferred experience pulling trailer.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Drives state agency trucks and cargo vans to deliver and pickup large items such as furniture, filing cabinets, IT and telecommunications equipment, boxed file records, packages, and other supplies.
• Performs shipping and receiving duties in the warehouse and mailroom, including inspection and routing of packages.
• Performs standard warehouse duties including storage and inventory of materials and supplies; operates motorized equipment for moving items.
• Assembles and installs furniture and equipment; assists with office moves and coordinates with contractors for modular furniture installation.
• Functions as a Regional Disaster Deployment Team member delivering and setting up emergency equipment.
