Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Warehouse Coordinator in Austin to oversee the regional warehouse, shipping/receiving, and inventory control of furniture, equipment, and supplies.

Under regional management, you will schedule pickups, supervise staff, ensure safety, and coordinate with fleet and facilities teams while supporting disaster deployment readiness. This is a full-time role with local travel and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of inventory and receiving procedures.
• Knowledge of standard warehouse procedures including safety.
• Knowledge of agency policies and procedures and ability to interpret them.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload.
• Skill in managing multiple priorities.
• Skill in coordinating the work of others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work irregular hours and overtime.
• Ability to operate warehousing equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, dolly, etc.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Plans and schedules all distribution services including receiving, storing, and shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, inter and intra office relocation of staff and equipment; and other administrative activities to ensure that customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
• Manages the functions as lead for all activities at the regional warehouse to achieve prescribed objectives.
• Reviews the warehouse daily to ensure that the area is neat, secure, and well organized to prevent damage to product, equipment and facility.
• Develops, implements and monitors programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
• Ensures current and accurate inventory control of all items in the regional warehouse.
• May be responsible for entry and reviewing fleet report system and state vehicles.
• Ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.
• May assist with emergency/disaster deployments and travel locally and statewide.
