Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Warehouse Specialist I in Abilene to manage inventory, pick and deliver supplies, and operate forklifts within a state-run facility.

The role supports daily living for patients/residents, with regular weekday hours and potential movement to other facilities across Texas. Requires high school diploma, valid forklift training, and willingness to obtain CDL where needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and inventory control.
• Ability to operate lifting equipment and use handheld inventory devices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and delivering stock.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular and predictable schedule (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm).
• Review picking tickets, verify items, and load carts for delivery.
• Load/unload stock using forklifts and other equipment; stage and deliver items to units.
• Record transactions in inventory and financial systems and participate in COOP activation.
