Job summary

Patriot Rail Company is seeking a skilled locomotive mechanic to inspect, service, and repair diesel locomotives and electrical systems. You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform corrective repairs, and complete FRA-required inspections with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires hands-on maintenance in an outdoor, industrial environment and travel to support multiple locations regionally (about 20%).

Qualifications

• Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work outdoors and in a hands-on industrial environment.
• Railroad, diesel engine, heavy equipment, automotive, military, or industrial maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair diesel locomotives and electrical systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform corrective repairs.
• Complete FRA-required inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain brakes, traction motors, engines, fuel systems, and other critical components.
• Ensure locomotives operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Travel regionally (approximately 20%) to support multiple locations.
