Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and manage complex refrigeration and facility systems across regional sites. You will lead cross-functional efforts with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and vendors to ensure reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.

You will drive standardization, capital projects, and the introduction of new technologies, while mentoring teams and delivering sustainable improvements to support business continuity and growth.

Qualifications

• 5 years of industrial refrigeration or cold chain engineering experience.
• Expertise in ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, HVAC/mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and technical teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, IIAR, energy efficiency and automation.
• Experience with CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and capital project execution.
• Travel >40% in initial years.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and lifecycle management of facility and operational systems.
• Provide advanced technical support for infrastructure, automation, controls, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, EHS, and vendors to drive improvements.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and improve uptime and efficiency.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop standards, documentation, SOPs, and system specifications.
• Support capital projects from concept through startup.
• Evaluate modernization strategies and emerging technologies.
