Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Deputy Regional Information Security Officer to own ICT security, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance across entities at varying maturity. You will be the named security officer for your portfolios, accountable to boards and regulators, in a high-visibility governance role bridging technology, compliance, and financial services.

You will lead risk governance, regulatory reporting to boards, risk assessments, BIA/BCP activities, and alignment of local controls

Qualifications

• 7+ years in information security governance or regulatory compliance.
• Named regulatory contact with licensing, examinations, or equivalent experience.
• Familiar with UAE VARA or similar crypto regulatory regimes.
• Demonstrated ability to build governance programs from the ground up.
• Experience with risk assessments, BIAs, and resilience planning.
• Ability to translate technical risk into board-level narrative.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the named ICT security officer for appointed entities with board-level accountability.
• Prepare and present security, risk, and compliance reporting to entity boards and senior management.
• Lead ICT risk assessments, control testing, and evidence documentation for audits.
• Coordinate with regulators (VARA) and cross-border authorities on ICT security matters.
• Develop and maintain ICT governance frameworks, policies, and resilience standards.
• Oversee incident response, remediation planning, and regulatory examinations.
• Embed security requirements into operational processes across entities.
