Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Hydraulics and Hydrology – Regional Practice Manager in the Arlington, VA area to lead advanced H&H projects for climate adaptation and water resources. You will guide technical teams, oversee delivery, and foster client relationships across a broad portfolio, including flood resilience and watershed initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and growth within Ramboll’s water infrastructure and climate adaptation group.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer certification/registration is required.
• B.S. Degree or higher in Water Resources, Civil, or equivalent engineering field.
• 15+ years in consulting experience.
• Expert knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology and ability to review hydraulic models (InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
• Experience with local, state and federal stormwater and floodplain permitting programs.
• Experience in H&H teams and providing H&H expertise across sewer, stormwater, green infrastructure, flood resiliency and watershed projects.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical, project delivery, and financial oversight to the project team.
• Provides hydraulic practice leadership and vision for staff.
• Identifies opportunities for continual improvement in processes.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain repeat business and acts as trusted client advisor.
• Coaches team members to develop project performance and technical skills.
• Leads or supports project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and team/resource management.
• Pursues business development within service lines and key accounts.
• Engages in client development and cross-market collaboration.
• Directs or manages hydraulic studies from planning through QA.
