Job summary

The Area Operations Manager is responsible for providing operational support and leadership to multiple Sales Centers within a designated region of Watsco. Each Center is a large wholesale HVAC distributorship that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies.

The primary purpose of this role is to successfully support daily operations of all facets of the multiple sales centers. This role will help drive performance through training, inventory management, and coordination with

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years operational experience in the HVAC industry and product lines.
• Experience managing wholesale HVAC equipment supply houses.
• Strong sales, marketing, operations and leadership background.
• Ability to mentor sales employees and set sales goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to analyze sales and market data and read P&L statements.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong presentation skills and independent work ethic.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and guidance to Sales Centers operations including warehouse, shipping, delivery, showroom and sales staff.
• Educate managers on inventory performance topics and train underperforming centers.
• Assist and train on merchandising, promotions, and operations support.
• Support implementation of new products and policies from corporate.
• Review weekly reports with Regional and Center Managers and suggest improvements.
• Lead regional training meetings and coordinate annual managerial conferences.
• Attend regional sales meetings to stay current on initiatives and visit customers.
