Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide both technical and organizational leadership within our growing Power and Energy practice. This role combines advanced HV substation design expertise with responsibility for leading, developing, and growing a team of engineers.

The successful candidate will serve as a recognized technical authority for substation physical design, oversee complex projects, mentor staff, and support business growth

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required.
Minimum 15 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead HV substation design projects from 230kV to 345kV.
Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design.
Review and approve engineering deliverables and calculations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery.
Drive quality reviews and development of engineering standards.
