Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice at multiple U.S. offices.

You will lead HV substation design from planning through startup and mentor a growing engineering team. The role requires driving technical excellence, reviewing complex calculations, and coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver world‑class solutions for our clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation projects from 230kV to 345kV as design authority.
• Review deliverables and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams from planning to startup.
• Mentor engineers and grow the regional team.
• Support business growth and client relationships.
