Job summary

ALS is seeking a field-based HSE Manager to implement and support Geochemistry HSE programs across the North American region. You will work with operations leadership to ensure regulatory alignment, drive improvements, and provide practical guidance, audits, and investigations to sustain a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include program adaptation, site support, inspections, incident investigations, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally within industrial, laboratory, or field operations environments.
• Bachelor’s/advanced degree or equivalent in a relevant field preferred. Strong knowledge of risk assessment methods (JHA/JSA, hazard identification, risk ranking).

Responsibilities

• Implement Global and North American HSE programs, standards, procedures, and initiatives across the region.
• Lead regional HSE improvement initiatives and risk reduction projects to enhance process effectiveness.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and workplace assessments; monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
• Lead or support investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental occurrences; conduct root cause analysis.
• Provide coaching to managers and supervisors on HSE responsibilities; support onboarding and safety training.
• Track and report regional HSE performance metrics; maintain records for audits and corrective actions.
